I think that’s fair since on a good day my 3 ½-year-old Chevrolet Volt has a 61-mile all-electric range, roughly comparable to a used Nissan Leaf or Fiat 500e. Toyota Prius Prime PHEV – 14,275. Chevrolet Bolt EV – 12,313. Buyers could still receive federal tax credits and local incentives if available.

January 1, 2023, kicked off a fresh start of new tax credits for vehicles, both new and used. Since then, much of the dust has settled on the Capitol as it continues to implement qualifying terms for tax credits , continuously shifting what used EVs do and do not qualify. Here’s the latest list.

Perhaps at the top of the list of trends from our Scoreboard is how well the two PHEVs from Toyota sold. What is a surprise to us, was the rebound in sales of the Prius Prime, which was up 128% YOY. And as you can see from the chart below, the the Prius is heading toward 60% of its sales being for the Prime PHEV version.
