Estonia has become the world’s first country to launch a nationwide fast-charging network for electric vehicles, using technology provided by ABB. On highways, the chargers are never more than 60 km (37 miles) apart, making it possible for electric vehicles to travel anywhere within the Baltic state without running out of power.

When complete, a total of 74 rapid chargers will have been installed, covering more than 1,100 km (684 miles) of major trunk routes and providing EV-friendly links to five seaports and five international airports. Estonia was the first country in the world to open a nationwide EV fast-charging network.
