There are multiple interesting aspects to the vehicle, including GM’s rationale for offering fast charging as an option (it’s not to go across country), but one of the most manifest when driving the car (aside from the “Wheee!” no garage or car port in apartments, etc. We wanted to be this car to be a blast to drive.

Last week I was mostly on vacation, so I didn't get a chance to really charge the car at full amperage many times. This week was back to work, so I was able to give the charge detector a more reasonable test. If you have a quirky potbox or press the accelerator too quickly, the car seems to lurch a bit.

In a flurry of electric vehicle activity, three back-to-back announcements this week have placed a spotlight on Oregon’s plans to be the friendliest state in the nation in which to build, sell and buy electric cars. According to Nissan, the company plans to introduce its upcoming electric car in Oregon in late 2010.
