Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s (ADNOC’s) first shipment of low-carbon ammonia recently left the United Arab Emirates (UAE) bound for Hamburg, Germany. This is the first cargo of low-carbon ammonia to be shipped to Germany. The cargo follows a number of similar low-carbon ammonia sales that have been made to customers in Asia.

thyssenkrupp has been awarded a contract to perform a technical study for a new green hydrogen and green ammonia project by the Emirati company Helios. A water electrolysis plant as well as a facility for sustainable ammonia production are planned to be constructed at KIZAD in Abu Dhabi, UAE, based on thyssenkrupp technology.

Abu Dhabi-based Masdar, a developer of renewable energy projects and urban development, Port of Amsterdam, SkyNRG, Evos Amsterdam and Zenith Energy Terminals have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore the development of a green hydrogen supply chain between Abu Dhabi and Amsterdam to support Dutch and European markets.

Mubadala Investment Company (Mubadala) and Snam, a leading energy infrastructure operator, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim to collaborate on joint investment and development initiatives on hydrogen. Through its international footprint Snam operates in Albania, Austria, China, France, Greece, India, Italy, UAE and UK.
