Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) USA has partnered with the Surfrider Foundation to create a specially modified Camry Hybrid fueled by compressed natural gas (CNG). The CNG system in the Surfrider Camry hybrid was built by Metal Crafters of Fountain Valley, Calif.; Metal Crafters also built the CNG Camry Hybrid concept in 2008.

Toyota announced that it has now sold 8,048,400 hybrid vehicles, with just 10 months elapsing between this and the last million-unit milestone. Camry Hybrid is the next most sold, with 528,300 units. As of this month, Toyota sells 30 hybrid passenger car models and one plug-in hybrid model in more than 90 markets.
