The new zero emission vehicle from Citroen - the C1 ev’ie - will feature in Green Motion’s fleet the company has announced. The car is based on the traditional Citroen C1 chassis and boasts a performance of up to 60mph with a range between 60 and 75 miles on a full charge.

Dundee-based Axeon, Europe’s largest independent lithium-ion battery systems supplier, has received the nod to develop a high capacity battery system for the electric Citroen C1 ev’ie. The vehicle, which is manufactured by the UK-based Electric Car Corporation, has a range of more than 60 miles and a top speed of 60mph.

This is further supported by the London Mayor, Boris Johnson, who has announced his plan to introduce 25,000 ‘juice points’ (charging stations), for electric cars throughout the city. The Citroën C1 ev’ie is assembled in the UK from the donor car. Interest in the C1 ev’ie is expected to be high.
