BMW M cars – they’re coming with hybrid drivetrains. BYD – Chinese car maker (the name means Build Your Dreams) has huge plans for Australia, including a range of SUVs and a sports sedan. BYD Atto 3 – the car known as the Yuan Plus overseas has been rebranded Atto 3 in Australia. Soon, apparently.

While the MX-30 Electric’s now been discontinued, head to Mazda’s website and the petrol-powered MX-30 M Hybrid (which is the mildest hybrid known to man), quite comically, costs less than those ex-demo MX-30 Electrics. A petrol MX-30 Astina’s over $46,000 drive-away. Then there’s the BYD Dolphin.
