Tesla is cutting ties with South Windsor, Connecticut, after the town’s Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously rejected the automaker’s proposal to open a showroom in the town. General Motors said that it will offer all of its Buick franchise dealers in the U.S. Global Vice President of Buick and GMC, Duncan Aldred, told WSJ that shifting to EVs will require significant investments by Buick dealers. Buick just offered to buy out ALL of its U.S. buyouts,the Wall Street Journal reported.

Tesla has had a permit for a new Service Center from the East Hartford, Connecticut Planning and Zoning Commission revoked after a local dealership voiced concern regarding direct-to-consumer sales laws. The East Hartford PZC voted to approve the Tesla Service Center, which would be located at 300 Connecticut Boulevard, last April.

In Connecticut, Tesla partnered with Mohegan Sun , a casino operated by the Mohegan tribal nation, to bypass direct sales bans in the state and establish a showroom.
