Buick has strengthened its commitment to electrification in China with the launch of the VELITE 7 electric vehicle and VELITE 6 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). The VELITE 7 is the first all-electric SUV in Buick’s new energy vehicle portfolio, offering 500 kilometers (311 miles) of range on a single charge.

Notes: SUVs are not defined, but presumably this category includes crossovers. With caps on vans, SUVs and pickups at $80,000 the proposed revisions fundamentally fails these two goals.
