During a press conference at AutoMobility LA, ReachNow, BMW Group’s free-floating premium car sharing service, announced its expansion into its third city: Brooklyn, NY. ReachNow Fleet Solutions for residential buildings will begin at The Solaire, a LEED Gold Certified building, in Manhattan’s Battery Park City neighborhood on 8 Dec.

Until then, we can always program the ESS to make what Lotus refers to as "more futuristic sounds for electric vehicles [that] can be created using sampled sounds and generated waveforms." We always seem to hear that one coming from a mile away.

has constructed prototype PHEV trucks for electric utility companies which can deliver energy to power an entire neighborhood during maintenance or repair when there is a power outage [ 4 ]. In addition, the grid could ask for energy back from the batteries of a PHEV if the house or neighborhood need is at a high level for a short time.

Although charging infrastructure is beginning to find its way into cities, it may be awhile until they are available in residential neighborhoods en masse.
