The European Association for Battery Electric Vehicles -Going-Electric -has written an open letter to Transport Secretary, Geoff Hoon following the announcement of a £250m programme of support for electric vehicles. Second, electric quadricycles should be included in the scheme.

Last week, Nissan announced plans to make electric car batteries at its plant in Sunderland, creating 350 new jobs in the process (see ‘ Nissan to make electric car batteries at Sunderland plant ’). Now it seems that its efforts have been rewarded.
