Volvo Trucks and Bucher Municipal have now entered into a collaboration to electrify sewer cleaner trucks. By the end of 2023, Bucher Municipal expects to deliver up to 80 fully electric sewer cleaner trucks to cities in Europe. Volvo Trucks goal is that electric models will account for half of its truck sales in 2030.

The Norwegian Postal Service has ordered 29 electric trucks from Volvo, making the order one of the largest ever for Volvo Trucks in Europe. All the trucks have the same driveline but will come in different configurations of the Volvo FL and FE models, with two and three axles respectively.

Volvo Cars will extend its range of compact cars into new segments based on its new Compact Modular Architecture (CMA)—a smaller version of Volvo’s Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) ( earlier post ). Volvo Cars will also develop an entirely new range of electrified smaller cars and build a fully electric car for sale by 2019.
