LG Chem announced that it won a contract to supply the 16 kWh Li-ion battery pack and controls for the new Chrysler Pacifica plug-in hybrid minivan introduced earlier this year at the Detroit auto show. The Korean battery-maker added that it expects more large-scale orders under its technology cooperation with Fiat Chrysler.

Li-ion battery maker LG Chem will supply the 16-kWh Li-ion battery pack system and controls for the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivan. The agreement with FCA US marks the first time LG Chem will engineer and manufacture a complete battery pack in Michigan for a volume production North American PHEV.
