ŠKODA AUTO, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, is introducing a smart energy storage system using second-life batteries from electric vehicles. In partnership with the Czech technology company IBG ?esko, So far, 160 pre-orders have been received from dealers in the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands and Slovakia.

Skoda to set up second life battery hubs to power its retailers. Skoda will use second-hand lithium-ion batteries from its PHEVs and BEV models to power its retailer network.
