Electric Auto Association Silicon Valley (EAASV), established in 1967 as the original Electric Auto (now Vehicle) Association, has a long history of attracting members and presenting speakers who have gone on to become tech and transportation luminaries. He had all these charts and graphs showing the power going into the motor.

Paradox 1 - Soot: There's an apparent emissions paradox with plug-in hybrids (PHEV): Driving longer distances on battery power means more cold starts as the internal combustion engine (ICE) stops and starts up again after the batteries deplete. A supplemental electric heater comes right to mind.
