The BYD F3DM will land in showrooms at the end of the month. Parent company BYD Co.—it BYD plans to sell cars in Europe and the US by 2010.

GM has announced plans for public sales in 2010, and almost every carmaker now says it will sell PHEVs or highway-speed battery electric vehicles (BEVs) sometime after 2010. In late 2008, BYD started selling the first production PHEV in China. BYD also developed the motors and software for the system.

Toyota Prius modders have already been adding larger batteries so the vehicle can run on battery power. Way to go morons.
