The 2015 Ram ProMaster City compact van ( earlier post ) has been EPA-rated at 21 mpg city, 29 mpg highway and 24 mpg combined (11.2, Compact Van Fuel Economy (mpg US). Full disclosure: Hyundai flew me to Baltimore, Maryland, and fed and housed me for two nights so that I could drive the new Kona. Fuel economy numbers top out at 35 mpg highway for a front-drive SEL. Hyundai’s counter is to give the Kona some features it previously lacked and to also offer a few features its competitors don’t.

Hyundai invited automotive journalists to Baltimore, Maryland, to drive the gasoline versions, which are in dealers now. We also feature those efficient gas-powered vehicles that are among the top mpg vehicles in their class. While we did get some brief seat time in the Kona EV, we will wait a few more months to review it.
