The legislation will not apply to Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland as such issues are matters for the devolved parliaments, though they may themselves introduce similar legislation in time. The UK would be the first country in the world to adopt such legislation, if it goes ahead. Will it be compulsory on older homes?
