It turns an EV into a mobile battery that can be used to provide backup power to a home or business, and to provide services to the electrical grid, generating revenue for the vehicle owner and potentially offsetting a significant part of the purchase price of the vehicle. On the light-duty side we are working with ABB and Wallbox.

RWD EV6s deliver the best range, and AWD EV6s provide the best all-weather traction and performance at a minor penalty in range, with an EPA range of 232 miles for the Short Range Light, 310 for the Long Range Light, Wind and GT-Line, 282 miles for the AWD Wind, 252 miles for the AWD GT-Line and 218 miles for the performance GT AWD.

It can do this with little disruption to the way homes and industry purchase and use energy today. We can set a goal to have every new vehicle purchased be a PHEV. Then the package-purchaser of a PHEV linked with a solar or wind generator has essentially bought a vehicle and its fuel for the life of the vehicle.

Most charge points available today take much longer to re-energize batteries than it does to fill a gas-powered cars tank. Perhaps more importantly, quickly "pouring" electricity into many of the batteries available today may stress the very expensive component and shorten their useful lifetime. not an issue.
