The cord that comes with the car just might suffice for many, especially plug-in hybrids which have smaller battery packs. Dozens of manufacturers seem to be selling equipment at a range of prices, but few actually are available now. Quite likely not beyond the current programs.

In China, customers are now exempt from paying sales tax on the i3. The BMW i3 is available now in 49 countries; the core phase of the market introduction is finished. Today, one in four electric cars sold in Germany is a BMW i3. In the US, every sixth e-car is an i3. Only some smaller markets are still to follow.
