Freescale Semiconductor announced the availability of the industry’s first general market AEC-Q100 qualified intelligent battery sensor to combine three measurement channels, a 16/32-bit MCU, and a CAN protocol module in a single package. Leo’s “kit” consists of a 60 kW water-cooled AC motor with controller, a 30 kWh or a 16 kWh lithium polymer power pack with multi-battery management system (BMS), and charger. The Leo power pack is made up of eight modules of ten lithium polymer cells, with each module assembled from ten small Li -ion polymer cells using a BMS.
