If just one out of five urban residents in Europe permanently changed from driving to cycling, emissions from automobiles would be cut by 8 percent, the study reports. Owning a reliable automobile has long been one of the only successful means of getting out of poverty.

Why grant them the privledge to spend our money in the first place? Posted by: Joe | Apr 13, 2009 11:27:11 PM The government gets no tax money on electric vehicles. We are addicted to the gasoline tax both at the State and Federal level. There is no room for them to hide the taxes or blame it on successful "rich" people.
