If you build a car as a "kit car" with no real factory, then yes, it will never be an economic success. they only developed it because California forced them with the 0 emission law, and the MOMENT the car and oil lobbyist and lawyers were able to kill the car, GM recalled every EV1 and destroyed them. Never again.
