The automobile industry has said that without additional government subsidies they can only sell 600,000 electric cars by 2020 at best.

In addition, a fleet regulation for power plant fleets modeled after the automobile industry would be an effective way to limit the average CO 2 emissions of the power utilities and further reduce emissions. Utilities with a fleet of aging power plants would then be forced to improve their CO 2 balance step-by-step.

Denmark did that with Wind Power and now most of their energy comes from wind rather than oil, natural gas, or coal. The fact that no journalists do their research to bring up all those connections is sad, sad. needs to have an indigenous automobile industry, and not merely "transplants". Call it the EV2? Never again.
