Volt like hybrids are the intermediate future between hydrogen or fast charging electric cars. Denmark did that with Wind Power and now most of their energy comes from wind rather than oil, natural gas, or coal. Generating electricity from wind and geothermal rather than a CO2 producing sources would help alleviate that problem.
