GM Daewoo Auto & Technology is considering producing a hybrid vehicle in 2011 in South Korea. GM Daewoo has tentatively agreed with its labor union on the plan to produce a hybrid car in South Korea, according to the official. GM Daewoo Auto & Technology. was established on October 17, 2002.

The South Korean market has already shown its willingness to embrace green car technologies so it comes as no surprise that GM Daewoo Auto & Technology is considering producing a hybrid vehicle in the country in two years time. The company has five manufacturing facilities in Korea as well as an assembly facility in Vietnam.

We sampled Hyundai’s new Ioniq 6 ‘Electrified Streamliner’ (not a sedan, Hyundai insists) in South Korea ahead of its early 2023 Australian arrival. Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto was also lacking in our test cars – cable only instead, but there is wireless phone charging. And not in a good way.

Tata Motors showcased its alternate fuel technology capability at the New Delhi Auto Expo 2012 by displaying four concepts: the Tata Nano CNG; the Tata Indigo Manza diesel-electric hybrid; the Tata Starbus Fuel Cell (hydrogen); and the Tata Magic Iris CNG. CNG kit components have been applied to the bi-fuel CNG Tata Nano.

While it’s already testing some of these ideas with the taxi-focused Niro Plus in South Korea, the first manufacturing step is Kia’s dedicated PBV factory , due to start production in 2025 set to make up to 150,000 vehicles annually. That will include global conversion (upfit) partners.

" President Obamas auto task force doesnt see it that way. If you build a car as a "kit car" with no real factory, then yes, it will never be an economic success. South Korea did that and Australia is going to be doing that. why would the auto company be in cahoots with the oil companies on this topic?
