No less an auto industry titan as Ford has also made bidirectional charging a selling point of their F-150 Lightning electric truck, reportedly slated to roll off the lines this year. In case of power outage at home, the DC pins in the charger can send juice back into the house, keeping the lights on.

" President Obamas auto task force doesnt see it that way. A simple, clean, efficient EV that wont run out of juice because of its on-board gas generator. Plus you can use solar and break technology, as well as other more experimental technology, and never have to charge it because it would then charge itself. thats right.
