The battery can be recharged by plugging the car into any electrical socket and allows the Prius to run entirely on electricity for speeds up to 34 miles per hour. CO2 from cars does not contribute to smog and is not harmful to human health but it is one of the leading contributors to global warming.

The electricity for recharging has to come from somewhere, which means power plants. There is significant cause vs. effect debate on CO2. The problem for the left is that NG is still a carbon based fuel (note: you are a carbon based lifeform and exhale 12 liters of CO2 a minute.). We have oil! Boones natural gas ( CNG ) plans.

As part of the solution framework, the Israeli government will provide tax incentives to customers, Renault will supply the electric vehicles, and Project Better Place will construct and operate an Electric Recharge Grid across the entire country. The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles.
