No less an auto industry titan as Ford has also made bidirectional charging a selling point of their F-150 Lightning electric truck, reportedly slated to roll off the lines this year. The ratio of marketing and expectations to intake of real-world information is still steep. It’s not quite ready for the mainstream yet, though.

Fuel cell cars should be plug-in hybrids so that the fuel cell is used only for extended range, and the fuel cell stack and hydrogen storage can be smaller.
