The concept behind V2G had gained traction in the late 1990s after California’s landmark zero-emission-vehicle (ZEV) mandate went into effect and compelled automakers to commercialize electric cars. And with the revival of the EV, the V2G concept was reborn. And the auto industry had just canceled the battery EV.

However, Winterkorn said, VW, and the German auto industry in general, abandoned the early advantage and work in electromobility. And the auto industry doesn’t hold back on announcements.

The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles. Toyota Prius modders have already been adding larger batteries so the vehicle can run on battery power. Way to go morons.
