Kia Niro EV review: It was only in 2021 that Kia introduced the Niro nameplate to Australia. Australia received the Niro very late in its model cycle and it was never intended to be a stayer. While brief, the original Niro’s fleeting lifespan also helped Kia Australia better understand the EV market and what consumers want.

None of this quartet is cheap, but all are towards the value end of the EV market. It’s fine up front, each person cocooned in an upmarket cabin with seats that hug in all the right places. But it loses points for its lack of gear in its base guise and the compromises of starting with a platform that was designed for petrol.
