That event was meant to show that the new company, a combination of the old Fiat Chrysler Automobiles with Europe’s Peugeot Citroën, had the plans to electrify its model line that FCA conspicuously lacked. Plug-in hybrids that never connect to the grid might as well not have a plug at all. Default: hybrid, not EV. Once or twice a week?

The electric grid is the most advanced energy-distribution network ever created and is constantly only a few feet away from us (far more ubiquitous than gas/ethanol/hydrogen stations). A simple, clean, efficient EV that wont run out of juice because of its on-board gas generator. needs to have an indigenous automobile industry, and not merely "transplants". Never again.
