Researchers at the University of Texas at Arlington have demonstrated a new solar process for the one-step, gas-phase conversion of CO 2 and H 2 O to C 5+ liquid hydrocarbons and O 2 by operating the photocatalytic reaction at elevated temperatures and pressures. In the best run, more than 13% by mass of the products were C 5+ hydrocarbons.
