The approved 2014-2015 Investment Plan Update for the Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector, which accounts for about 40% of California''s carbon emissions.

The approved awards were made through the Commission's Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program, created by Assembly Bill 118. These projects put more than 9,000 alternative fuel and energy-efficient light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles on the road, and establish 542 refueling locations across the country.
