The event, WAJ Media Day 2021, afforded me a chance to experience some exotic and high-end cars that aren’t normally in the sights of Clean Fleet Report. The event was held in last week in Half Moon Bay, California. Volvo V90 T6 AWD R-Design. The Volvo V90 T6 AWD R-Design is no exception as it is a beautifully designed wagon.

The secret is that Polestar is an electric performance brand from Volvo and its Chinese owner, Geely Holding. It was established in 2017 and is based in Gothenburg, Sweden, where Volvo has been for a long time (although the Polestar 2 is built in China). Inside, the 2021 Polestar 2 shows its Volvo origins.

The answer, which I was able to get to elevator-pitch length, is that Polestar is the all-electric division of Volvo Cars, and the Polestar 2 is its first all-electric car here in the States. The Polestar 2 at first looks like a Volvo, but upon closer inspection has a style all its own. Good enough? Not nearly. Speak to me.
