Sunoco Idles Eagle Point Refinery; Will Evaluate Feasibility of Using it to Produce Alternative Fuels in the Future

Sunoco purchased the Eagle Point Refinery in January 2004 from El Paso Corporation. Sunoco will shift current Eagle Point production to its two nearby refineries in Marcus Hook and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which will now operate at higher capacity utilization.

UPS Deploys 200 More Hybrid Delivery Trucks

UPS has expanded its fleet of alternative-fuel vehicles with the deployment of 200 next-generation hybrid electric delivery trucks in eight US cities. The HEV fleet features two different size vehicles from Workhorse Custom Chassis and Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation and a hybrid power system from Eaton Corporation.

PECO Expanding Fleet with NGVs & PHEVs

The NGVs will be used by PECO’s energy technicians in the Philadelphia suburbs. The vehicles cost more to buy when modified for CNG use, but the fuel costs significantly less than diesel or gasoline at 25% less per equivalent gallon, said Bill Flemming, PECO’s fleet manager and chairman of the Greater Philadelphia Clean Cities Coalition.
