Photo: Waffle House EV charging company EnviroSpark is installing National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program DC fast chargers at Waffle House in Lakeland, Tennessee. The NEVI Formula program requires EV charging stations to be available every 50 miles and within one travel mile of the Alternative Fuel Corridor.

Key to this reduction has been the development and implementation of a plan that has improved the State fleet’s overall use of alternative fuels, the reduction of unneeded fleet vehicles, and reducing unnecessary vehicle miles traveled. As of March 2012, all 24 electric charging stations have been installed and are in service.

The battery pack provides up to a 100-mile (161 km) driving range on a single charge. The battery pack will charge from fully depleted to fully charged in six to eight hours. In addition, the vehicle charging system is incorporated into the overall operating system so no exterior devices are required to charge the truck.
