The plug-in hybrid vehicle the “Spirit of DC" was designed to run on electricity alone for about 10 miles before reverting back to acting like an ordinary hybrid. By harnessing the speed, simplicity, and efficiency of the dragonfly nervous system, we aim to design computers that perform these functions faster and at a fraction of the power that conventional systems consume.
