The Cadillac Converj extended-range electric vehicle Concept uses the Voltec platform. GM expects HCCI, when combined with enabling technologies like variable valve actuation and advanced electronic engine controls, to provide a 12-15% improvement in overall fuel economy while being more affordable than hybrid or diesel technologies.

Nissan and Eaton will partner to combine their respective expertise in lithium-ion batteries and power electronics respectively, to bring reliable and cost-competitive second-life energy storage and control technologies to the market. The new Nissan LEAF 30 kWh has an extended range of up to 250 km (155 miles) on a single charge.
