Audi is joining the race as automakers gear up to introduce new, lower-cost EV models. Audi plots a new lower-cost EV, an electric A3 or Q3 After unveiling the new Q6 e-tron this week, its next-gen premium mid-size electric SUV, Audi, is planning a smaller, lower-cost EV. The new electric car is expected to launch in 2027.

Ola hatchback could be the most affordable, above which their sedan and top will be the electric SUV offering. New EV models from Hyundai, Kia, and Tata Motors are also made production-ready to debut in 2019. The company’s first EV for India, the eVX concept was unveiled to the public at Auto Expo 2023. The model was first unveiled as a concept in 2022. The EV9 is a distinctly two-box SUV that is clearly defined.

One new and more affordable option is the Mustang Mach-E , but the personality difference is substantial. The Audi E-tron is another luxury competitor, but I haven’t had any seat time in it yet. Ones to watch include the upcoming BMW i4 and recently announced Kia EV6, but you can’t buy one of those yet.

The Model Y is not the best driving EV of 2022 (it’s still comfortably outdone by the Kia EV6 and the Tesla Model 3 is nicer to drive, too) or the most daring (I’d stick the Genesis GV60 high on that list). The EV newcomer is largely unheard of but arrived with an affordable bang in the form of the Atto 3.
