In addition to the European car market recording tepid growth in 2019, CO 2 emissions have continued to increase, despite new regulation designed to curtail this, according to JATO Dynamics. As expected, the combination of fewer diesel registrations and more SUVs continued to have an impact on emissions. —Felipe Munoz.

Overall, the European car market registered its sixth consecutive month of decline in February 2019, as 1.14 Denmark also recorded a strong result in February, with volume up by 8% due to an increase in its EV and PHEV registrations. Registrations of SUVs were up by 10% to 421,500 units, as they posted a market share of almost 37%.
