Geely Holding has provided two Geely Auto Emgrand methanol sedans ( earlier post ) and the world’s first M100 heavy truck to Danish partners as part of the long-term trial. The uses of green methanol for commercial shipping have already been pioneered by Danish shipping giant Maersk.

Daimler AG, with its wholly owned subsidiary ACCUMOTIVE, and enercity (Stadtwerke Hannover AG) will begin construction of a new stationary energy storage system (ESS) this year; the facility also functions as a spare parts storage facility for electromotive battery systems. Further major projects are scheduled to start in 2016.

The power electronics are effectively a link that controls the flow of high-voltage energy between the motor and the battery. The power electronics convert the direct current (DC) stored in the battery into alternating current (AC). Meanwhile, a DC/DC converter supplies the onboard electronics with 12-volt power.
