Volvo Cars and Autoliv autonomous driving JV Zenuity starts operations

Zenuity, the joint venture between Volvo Cars and Autoliv, Inc. At the same time Volvo Cars will contribute intellectual property, know-how and personnel into the joint venture. As previously announced, Volvo Cars and Autoliv own the joint venture 50/50. The formation of the joint venture was first announced in September 2016.

Volvo Cars raises US$533M via issuance of preference shares to Swedish investors

Uber launches self-driving pilot in San Francisco with Volvo Cars

Uber is expanding its self-driving pilot to San Francisco, California, using specially-converted self-driving Volvo XC90 premium SUVs. Volvo Cars and Uber are contributing a combined US$300 million to the project. Both Uber and Volvo will use the same base vehicle for the next stage of their own autonomous car strategies.

Volvo Cars, and Autoliv signed a final agreement to establish a new joint venture called Zenuity to develop software for autonomous driving (AD) and driver assistance systems (ADAS), based on the letter of intent announced during fall 2016. As previously announced, Autoliv and Volvo Cars will own the joint venture 50/50.
