As part the Israeli Ministry of Environmental Protection’s (MoEP’s) action plan to reduce pollution in Haifa Bay in Israel, Israel Police are actively enforcing exclusion rules that bar heavy vehicles in downtown Haifa Bay at certain times of the day. MoEP thus launched a new environmental action plan for Haifa Bay in 2015.

Enforcement during this stage will be carried out by city inspectors and the Israel Police. Haifa is the first [city we are taking on] in the revolution that we’re leading in Israel to reduce vehicular air pollution. Then cameras will be installed at entrances to the city and enforcement will be carried out automatically.
