Last year Oregon had also aggressively negotiated with the Chinese carmaker, BYD , to manufacture its line of plug-in hybrids in the state for sale in the U.S.) So imagine a million electric cars on US roads which all need to change these batteries in say 2015. Now add much cheaper materials and NiMH is now obsolete.
