Researchers in South Korea are suggesting two new carbon-dioxide-utilized Gas-to-Liquids processes (CUGP) to increase the overall efficiency of conventional Fischer-Tropsch GTL. In a paper in the ACS journal Environmental Science & Technology , they report that the two CUGP options increase carbon efficiency by 21.1?41.3%

EPA said that it worked closely with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) regarding their development of transportation fuels lifecycle GHG impacts and the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS). The analysis uses economic models to determine the area and location of land converted into cropland in each country as a result of the RFS program.
