Audi of America also confirmed that it will offer the A3 Sportback e-tron plug-in gasoline electric hybrid (PHEV) model in the US market later in 2014. Audi recently revealed the A3 Sportback e-tron at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. In Germany and many European countries, the four-door car will be available at dealers late this summer.

Per the IRS: Beginning January 1, 2023, if you buy a qualified previously owned electric vehicle (EV) or fuel cell vehicle (FCV) from a licensed dealer for $25,000 or less, you may be eligible for a previously owned clean vehicle tax credit under Internal Revenue Code Section 25E. As long as they fit certain criteria.

It’s interesting to speculate regarding the relative market share of the EV in relation to the PHEV. 2, Ghosn will unveil the first of three electric models in three vehicle segments that he plans to sell by 2013.
