The hybrid propulsion and energy management system has been proven to significantly reduce emissions, fuel consumption and equipment maintenance for marine vessels. Foss built the first hybrid tugboat, Carolyn Dorothy , and has successfully converted a second vessel, Campbell Foss , to a hybrid at its shipyard in Rainier, Oregon.

In the United States, Mitsubishi will begin to roll out a larger variant of the MiEV, carrying a MiEV-i moniker, as a 2012 model in California, Oregon, Washington, and Hawai’i this November. Mitsubishi has selected Eaton as its EVSE supplier and Best Buy’s Geek Squad as its EVSE installer for the United States market.

With seating for five, the 2012 Prius Plug-in hybrid is expected to achieve a manufacturer-estimated 87 mpge (miles per gallon equivalent) in combined driving and 49 mpg in hybrid mode, or 2.7 As a result, driving performance for the 2012 Prius Plug-in Hybrid will be similar to the standard Prius.
