NS originally built NS-999 in early 2009 with lead–acid batteries; however, the lead–acid system consistently failed field testing.

Toyota Prius modders have already been adding larger batteries so the vehicle can run on battery power. When most of America will be reluctant to buy a GM car because the company might go bankrupt how the hell did those in charge think bailing them out was a good idea? Deliveries start in 2011.
