In September 2009 Administrator Jackson announced that EPA would reconsider the existing ozone standards, set at 0.075 ppm in March 2008. EPA also reviewed the findings of the independent Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee, which recommended standards in the ranges of the new proposal. 2010 in Arlington, Va.

The 43 winning proposals were submitted by transit agencies from across the country as part of a nationwide competition for the $100 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) funds. Arlington Transit – ART, Virginia: $1,500,000. Lowell Regional Transit Authority, Massachusetts: $1,500,000.
